Meet the Fairies: Our first couple of months as Business Owners!
Welcome to the first installment of our blog, Fairy Dust! Dedicated to connecting with our audience, sharing our thoughts, detailing our journey metamorphosing from burnt-out employees to whimsical business owners, and more!
Let’s Catch Up
The past couple months have been quite a time for us! We left our long-term careers for the sake of our mental health & creative freedom, and launched our own brand in hopes of creating our dream jobs. So far, we’ve exceeded our own expectations beyond belief- and are overwhelmed with gratitude. And as for the rest of 2026… we have no plans of slowing down!
What have we been up to?
We’ve been learning all things business- like is that a write off? How the hell do taxes work, etc. We’re only a couple months in and Hannah already has personal beef with the IRS. We’ve been re-establishing our footing in an industry that we’ve been immersed in for years, while simultaneously creating a brand that’s uniquely us. We’ve also been pouring into some new friendorships & pushing ourselves to step into new rooms with new faces!
Danielle joined the board of Whole Heart Health, a nonprofit focused on bridging the gap between nutrition education and nutrition insecurity. Hannah has been focusing on building the world of fgf, while also resting & healing from years of pushing through her chronic illness!

Danielle
1.) what is your favorite project from the summer?
Surprisingly enough, memorial work has probably been my favorite thing we’ve done this summer. I always kind of shied away from this field because I thought it would make me really sad. But my experience has been opposite. It has been so fulfilling to learn about the people that we’ve had the honor to design for. Creating something that represented them while providing comfort through beauty to their loved ones has been wonderful to me.
2.) what’s the hardest thing we’ve navigated so far?
Trusting the process!!! All of them. I’m impatient and crave instant results, so slowly watching things fall into place makes me crazy.
3.) which upcoming event are you super excited for?
Two things - a dear friend’s gender reveal florals + Ultimate Tailgate
Hannah
1.) what is your favorite project from the summer?
My favorite design was Mrs. Caballero’s casket spray. My goal with memorial work is to elevate the old-school, traditional look into designs that are actually unique and beautiful.
2.) what’s the hardest thing we’ve navigated so far?
I think the hardest thing for me has been actually using the freedom that I have now. For so long, I worked within tight boundaries- creatively and logistically. When starting fgf, I thought I knew exactly how I wanted to do things. And wowww has that changed! Being a couple months in now, It feels like I’m having to rewire my brain to make room for all of my new ideas!
3.) which upcoming event are you super excited for?
ALL of our weddings! We have over a dozen booked fgf brides, and they’re truly the best! Our dream clients are definitely finding us, and I cannot wait to design for them!
Designs we Love
The Casket Spray we designed for Mrs. Caballero. I love that you can’t tell it’s for a funeral. Fun fact: I went to THREE different wholesalers to get the right flowers for this order. The family specifically requested dahlias, sweet peas, and english ivy.
These floating meadows for the Poolside Signature Social! Tell me there’s not a fairy flying around in there.
Morgan’s memorial basket. AKA sunflowers done the right way! They were her favorite, and I love the way this arrangement came out. Adding the dahlias and strawflower really modernized the old-school sunflower look!
